Should parents be allowed to hit their children?

Imagine walking through a supermarket, and you see a 4 year old, cursing his mother out. You say to yourself “That’s a shame, he needs a beating.” Should parents be allowed to hit their children? I think they should because it teaches children discipline, there should be limitations, and there’s a difference between child abuse and a whipping.

My first reason is because it teaches children discipline. It teaches children discipline because it’s a forceful way of showing kids what they did was wrong. I think by whipping your child it won’t only show discipline but it will show respect too. Respect means “An act of giving particular attention.” By beating your child he/she would understand what respect and obedience is.

Not only does hitting you child show discipline, but also I think there should be limitations on how you beat your child. There shouldn’t be child abuse such as: hitting a child with a remote. Verbal abuse: cursing your child out, and emotional abuse: calling your child names and making them think bas thoughts about themselves. As in my scenario the person said, “He should get a beating” He deserved one because he was being disrespectful to his mother.

Lastly, I believe there’s a difference between child abuse and a child whipping. Child abuse is when you constantly hit or punish a child for a personal reason, or just cause. An example of child abuse is from the story Huckleberry Fin. Huck's father beat him, tortured him, and put him in the cabin with no food or water. A child whipping is when you beat a child with a reason such as disrespect, disobendience. Etc.

In conclusion, we're in the 21st century where disrespect is everywhere: music, school, and streets. Why should it be in your home too? You can change that. I believe parents should beat their child because it shows discipline and respect. What do you believe?

HuckleBerry Fin in CHS

Ever read a book that got you so angry to read? you threw it down because you couldn't understand how someone could publish this. I have.I think Huckleberry Fin should not betaught in CHS because it doesn't use proper grammer, it influence kids to do wrong, and it's very challenging to kids our age.

First reason HuckleBerry Fin should be banned in CHS is because it uses bad grammer. It uses bad grammer because the book uses racial slurs. It uses racial slurs because it uses the word "nigger" alot. It also doesn't uses proper sentences because the book opens as "you don't know about me"

Secondly, Huck Finn should be banned because it influences kids to do wrong. It shows kids wrong because in the book the kids were smoking, cursing, and gangs. In the story Tom Sawyer started a gang and made them sign a blood oath.

Lastly, the book should be banned because it's a very challenging book to kids our age. Its very hard to understand and it's a college based book.

In conclusion, the book is complicated and wrong for CHS. It's wrong because it uses improper grammer, influence kids to do wrong, and it's too challenging for kids my age.

What Is Going On?

Music is meaningless to a song, it's only an attention getter to the words, but when the words have no meaning the whole song is lost. Young girls flaunting their body in tight clothes with nothing on their mind, men are lost in a world that's going no where, money can't even buy you the thoughts that your dreams are made of. We can't even trust the food we eat, or the air we breath. Just where will the road end? There are no generations of life to look forward to, kids are taking care of the parents and parents are taking care of the grandkids. We are always looking for the light at the end of the tunnel and we can't even find the tunnel. The only light we have are in the prayers at night and wake up to the darkness of the daylight of false hope and happiness. These words are not to put you down but to help you look around, there are better ways and better days.

Graduation 2011

The dropout rates in Philadelphia are very high. Many kids don’t go to school, many kids also cut school. What makes me think I’m going to reach the top? What makes me think I’m not going to give up? What makes me think I’m going to graduate in 2011? I’m going to graduate in 2011 for three reasons, my family, my knowledge, and my dreams.
In the first place my family is a major part in my life, and my future. My family is number 1 supporters and they help me whenever I need help. My parents urge me to do better, an they want me to succeed. With my parents’ unconditional love and encouragement I’m destined to graduate in2011.
As well as my family, my knowledge is another reason I’m going to graduate in2011. Ever since 1st grade I have been on honor roll. I have the knowledge to succeed, and it would be unlikely for me to fail. I like to study and learn new things. I believe with these skills it will help me reach the top and graduate.
Other than my family, and my knowledge, my dreams are a major part in my future and why I’m going to graduate. I wish to become a lawyer. To become a lawyer I have to graduate high school. I also have to go to college, and law school. I dream to become successful. I dream to graduate in 2011. I know I will reach the top. I know I won’t get sidetracked. I know I will graduate in 2011.

My philosophy of government

My philosophy of government is that government is necessary because we would be civilized, have estabulished laws, and we would be safe.I agree with Thomas Hobbes theory that Americans are brutish, selfish, nasty, and short. We need laws to be civilzed because without laws our society would be chaotic.
